Work Experience

The majority of work at the research unit is desk-based project work and as such there is no direct contact with patients. Whilst we can't offer you an insight into the day-to-day clinical work of speech and language therapists, we can provide a broad overview of the range of patients, theory and research within speech and language therapy.

Work experience may include a variety of research tasks including transcription of speech samples, coding, sorting database materials and compiling literature critiques.

Placements are unpaid and no travel or incidental expenses will be payable.

If this appeals to you, then please follow the link below to submit an application.

At present there is high demand for research placements at the Unit and a waiting list is in operation.
