Bristol Speech and Language Therapy Research Unit, in partnership with Charles Sturt University in Australia and the University of Sydney, has been successful in securing funding to use innovative technology to promote speech and pre-literacy skills in at-risk pre-schoolers.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

Yvonne Wren was invited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to give a presentation at their annual convention in Atlanta, Georgia this November based on her work with the ALSPAC study. The title of the presentation was 'Opportunities for change in children with persistent speech disorders' and was delivered jointly with Dr Kelly Schussler of the University of Ohio.

NIHR Post Doc Fellowship Award Dr Yvonne Wren Round 5, 2012

The Bristol Speech and Language Therapy Research Unit, North Bristol NHS Trust, is pleased to announce the award of a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Post Doc Fellowship to Dr Yvonne Wren, Research Speech and Language Therapist. Dr Wren is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of the West of England in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

On 20 June, the University of the West of England, Bristol hosted a seminar in celebration of the book ‘Listening to Children and Young People with Speech, Language and Communication Needs. This seminar brought together 8 of the original contributing authors who provided an update on their research which investigates the perspectives of children and young people with SLCN.
