Katherine Broomfield

Speech and Language Therapist
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist from Sheffield University in 2001 and completed a Masters in AHPs in Clinical Leadership at City University in 2010. My current clinical role is as lead for the AAC service, part the adult speech and language therapy team, for Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust.  In January 2014 I secured funding via Health Education South West to complete a Clinical Academic Training Programme Internship and commenced my 5-month placement with the BSLTRU in November 2014. The aims of this internship are:
a) To gather and analyse data collected relating to an area of my clinical service in order to evaluate and develop the service following the placement
b) To experience a research environment and learn about research processes and methods relevant to my area of clinical interest
c) To prepare a PhD application via the NIHR clinical academic training pathway
